Every June Kew holds a traditional fete on the Village Green. There’s an authentic steam fair, including a carousel, flying swings and Ferris wheel. There are also over a hundred stalls of crafts, food and other goodies, bands, singers, a tug-of-war battle and the most popular event of the day, the dog show. In 2015 and 2017 Bille and I entered the ‘dogs who resemble their owners’ competition and in both of these years, we took second place, receiving our rosettes from Krishnan Guru-Murthy of the Channel 4 News and Sophie Raworth of the BBC News respectively.
This past June we wore matching lime green dresses. I’d also had Billie professionally groomed for the event. And I’m proud to say that this year we took gold, given our first place rosette from Callum Woodhouse of ITV’s the Durrells. I’m so proud of my little pomeranian and we’re already looking forward to next year — in a different category. Watch this space.
