Pretty much everyone’s creative when they’re little — most children love getting a bit mucky in the process of making things. Not very many, however, possess that artistic spark which carries on and compels them to create something from their imagination. One of these special people is my friend, Gudy, who does the incredibly difficult art of painting on silk. So good is her technique that she’s been asked to teach her class when the instructor is ill. And this past November her work was given an exhibition of its own at the Hampstead School of Art. It was outstanding and I was priviledged to be asked to photograph it for posterity.
